Giving back to students

For much of PITP's history, we have made an effort to support students and their studies within the Department of Computer and Information Technology.

Each year, a select few students are given scholarships for the following academic year, as our way of saying, "Thank you!" and also as a way to congratulate students' efforts.

Andrew Markel

CYBERSECURITY + NET

With showing clear compassion and a drive to assist those around him in any way possible, Andrew Markel received the Mentorship scholarship.

He expressed his thoughts on what it means to be a mentor (both in the classroom and in the workplace), and in doing so, he has successfully put his own words into action by leading a multitude of teams throughout his college career thus far.

Displaying immense amounts of growth throughout her junior year at Purdue, Amanda Huang received the Professional Development scholarship.

Despite being a junior when joining PITP, she conveyed just how much PITP's workshops and events helped not only develop her professional brand, but also increase her breadth of knowledge in IT, from networking to cybersecurity.
